The Beatles were an English rock band, active throughout the 1960s and one of the most commercially successful and critically acclaimed acts in the history of popular music. Formed in Liverpool, by late 1962 the group consisted of John Lennon (rhythm guitar, vocals), Paul McCartney (bass guitar, vocals), George Harrison (lead guitar, vocals) and Ringo Starr (drums, vocals). Rooted in skiffle and 1950s rock and roll, the group later worked in many genres ranging from pop ballads to psychedelic rock, often incorporating classical and other elements in innovative ways. The nature of their enormous popularity, which first emerged as "Beatlemania", transformed as their songwriting grew in sophistication. They came to be perceived as the embodiment of ideals of the social and cultural revolutions of the 1960s. Initially a five-piece line-up of Lennon, McCartney, Harrison, Stuart Sutcliffe (bass) and Pete Best (drums), they built their reputation playing clubs in Liverpool and Hamburg over a three-year period from 1960. Sutcliffe left the group in 1961, and Best was replaced by Starr the following year. Moulded into a professional act by manager Brian Epstein, their musical potential was enhanced by the creativity of producer George Martin. They gained popularity in the United Kingdom after their first single, "Love Me Do", became a modest hit in late 1962, and acquired the nickname the "Fab Four" as Beatlemania grew in Britain over the following year. "Continuum for Guitar," Track 7 on the CD "Jukebox School of Music" (ROM Records, 1988), played on 1976 Martin D35-S guitar and hi-hat by Sandy Bull (1941-2001). Bull was a master improvisational musician who blended Western and Eastern musical traditions. He was a virtuoso on guitar and other stringed instruments and is a neglected icon of the 1960s.

This version is sung by Matty Vaughan and Bob Hornett, accompanied with the harmonica and acoustic guitar. Enjoy! October, 2010. More information: "The Last Thing on My Mind" is a song written by American folk singer and singer-songwriter Tom Paxton in the early 1960s, which Paxton first recorded in 1964. The song was released on Paxton's 1964 album Ramblin' Boy, which was his first album released on a major record label (Elektra Records). The song's melody is not too different from the traditional British Isles folk song "Leaving of Liverpool". Bob Dylan used the melody and some of the chorus's lyrics of "Leaving of Liverpool" in a song he adapted and retitled as "Farewell" in 1963. All these songs are about saying goodbye to one's lover and missing them deeply.

1960s KAPA Continental Electric Guitar Vintage American Fender Jaguar Clone
Made between 1965-1968 in Maryland USA. Neck and pickups came from Hofner (Germany) Brazilian Rosewood Oval neck profile with slightly larger than vintage frets. Nice guitar plays real good. Nice warm tone. Cant find a new USA made guitar with this tone. Needs new tuners, will probably have to modify to make new ones fit, comparable to 1960s Fender Jaguars, but without the price : )
